This site was first created in 2003 and is designed to show work by photographers who use the urban environment as their point of departure in the production of formal, often abstract, works. The intention is to collect together a variety of interpretations of this theme.
The images on this site use the relationships between line, shape, and colour to reveal something beyond the literal nature of the physical subject presented, whilst remaining purely 'photographic' in nature.
The site is not concerned with 'street photography', in the conventional sense of the term.
Although very personal to each photographer, these works are not 'self expression' - they portray universals . . .
